Darkness to Light Honors Partners in Prevention

On Wednesday, representatives from 48 Charleston-area organizations attended a D2L-sponsored luncheon honoring them for their commitment to child sexual abuse prevention. As Partners in Prevention, these organizations make the commitment to provide Stewards of Children training to all employees and volunteers who interact with children, require comprehensive background checks for all new employees and volunteers, and implement protective policies that limit isolated, one-on-one situations. Stamford, CT JCC Paves Prevention Path!

Our First City to become a Partner in Prevention – Germantown designated ‘Partner in Prevention’ of sex abuse

Engaged Seniors Joining the Fight to End CSA

Yesterday I had the pleasure of conducting a Stewards of Children training 60 Seniors from the Senior Companion Program which is sponsored by Charleston Area Senior Citizens Services, Inc.  They are senior volunteers age 55 and older who serve Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties in South Carolina. Last year they provided over 50,000 volunteer community hours to frail Seniors in need.  The program is under the umbrella of Senior Corps, part of the Corporation for National and Community Service.   The session was part of their …
