Darkness to Light Honors Partners in Prevention

On Wednesday, representatives from 48 Charleston-area organizations attended a D2L-sponsored luncheon honoring them for their commitment to child sexual abuse prevention. As Partners in Prevention, these organizations make the commitment to provide Stewards of Children training to all employees and volunteers who interact with children, require comprehensive background checks for all new employees and volunteers, and implement protective policies that limit isolated, one-on-one situations. Child Abuse Prevention Month – Charleston, SC Activities

Beginning this weekend, residents of Charleston and the surrounding areas have two unique opportunities to participate in National Child Abuse Prevention Month. On April 13, 27, and May 11, Darkness to Light and The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center will be offering free community trainings. The Citadel and Darkness to Light join forces to combat child sexual abuse

We have made it to day 20 of our prevention month efforts, and we’re just ending our busiest week of the month. National Child Abuse Prevention Month-get involved today!

D2L kicked off National Child Abuse Prevention month with a candlelight vigil in downtown Charleston on March 28th.
