Congratulations to the Merrimack Valley YMCA!

Merrimack Valley YMCA has already trained 413 individual’s in 2012 and they have 2 more trainings to go this month!  What a way to start the new year!  They have also just received a $4,000 donation from their local Rotary Club to support their Darkness to Light initiative!  This will go a long way in their efforts to train all of the Methuen Public Schools and the Methuen Fire Department. Keep up the amazing work Merrimack Valley YMCA!  We are so proud of you!

Sex abuse prevention is focus at the Childhood Trauma Treatment Program at Advocate Health Care

Congratulations to Heather Randazzo at the Childhood Trauma Treatment Program Advocate Family Care Network in Boilingbrook, Illinois!  Their program is one of many to receive financial support from Chicago Tribune Holiday Giving.  Heather has trained over 760 individual’s in Stewards of Children since she became an authorized facilitator.  Their organization hopes to train over 1,000 next year!  Read more here.

The CAC of Warren County and Mason Schools collaborate to protect children

The Child Advocacy Center of Warren County honored Mason Schools with its Stewards of Children award this month on Nov. 18th. The District Associate Superintendent Amy Spicher accepted the award in honor of the district’s recognition of and dedication to protecting youth. New Jersey YMCA State Alliance takes a bold stand against child sexual abuse

Last Friday, September 23, 2011 the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance came together to discuss child protection. Berkeley Schools first in nation to set standard for child sexual abuse prevention

One woman on a mission in Carroll County GA

Emily Cole of Carrollton Presbyterian Church is on a personal mission to protect the children of Carroll County Georgia from child sexual abuse. Emily is an authorized facilitator of Stewards of Children and along with fellow facilitator, Jill Hesterlee, the two have trained almost 700 adults in Carroll County in the past year! Memphis Child Advocacy Making Prevention Happen

Hockomock YMCA to raise awareness about CSA by using D2L programs

Across the country YMCA’s and D2L are working together to help prevent child sexual abuse.  One of these Y’s is the Hockomock YMCA in MA. They are working with their 5 member communities to bring awareness and offer Stewards of Children trainings. They have had tremendous support from their community as they work towards training 5% of their adult population.
