D2L is proud to release a new version of our award-winning Stewards of Children® training program and documentary film designed to teach adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
Building on the longstanding success of the original training, which has reached over 500,000 adults throughout the nation and world, the newest version takes a culturally relevant look at current issues in child protection.
Along with a diverse new “cast” of survivors, the Stewards of Children documentary features expert guidance and practical advice from professionals and parents as part of a five-step action plan to help adults protect the children in their lives.
This evidence-informed training program also includes updated statistics and current topics in child sexual abuse prevention, packaged into a concise, two–hour format. Training is available through a facilitator-led session or through a newly improved online platform with increased functionality and user interface.
A Spanish language version of Stewards of Children is also available, featuring Dr. Marisa Azaret, chief psychologist of the behavioral psychology program at Miami Children’s Hospital, and medical contributor for CNN en Español.
“This is a true milestone in the protection of our children,” says Jolie Logan, D2L President and CEO. “The revised training and film reflect the insights that have been revealed through more than a decade focused on this issue. Training, awareness and new policy initiatives for youth serving organizations are all helping build a culture to end child sexual abuse.”

To mark the global release of the new Stewards of Children training, D2L is premiering the program’s riveting narrative documentary in its headquarter city of Charleston, South Carolina. Cast and crew of the new training will attend the event alongside D2L family, friends, and supporters including representatives from a wide variety of youth serving and child advocacy organizations.
Following the film, the brave survivors who shared their personal stories to help others prevent child sexual abuse will be honored with Voice of Courage Awards to recognize their contribution to the film and to creating safer communities for children.
